flowers the way i see them are little reminders of uniqueness in beauty and attraction. like mirrors of our lives modelled in a fast pace and a more fragile state. within these remarkably well designed structures, one can microscopically compare and argue that even though they can be all as beautiful, there are none that are exactly the same. and within our nature, there will always be some that are more special than others.

approaching bangkok on what seems to be a nice day. unfortunately, a layer of thick smog and clouds block the view into the dense and congested city. it also appears to cover an extended range of the land from above. once landed, it wasn’t all that bad, a bit like as if it were overcast, but it still blows to know the truth that not everyone gets to see.

interesting to see how this man rows down towards the damnoen saduak floating market, scenery of an old style and traditional market where locals buy fruits, vegetables and daily necessities. nowadays, what you see in addition to the fruits and vegetables are clothes, labeled with nike and gucci signs. it reflects upon the change of our lifestyles and how the cultural and social environment is “progressing”.

as the holiday season approaches, one can already feel the pressure of the year coming to an end. the streets are busier, people are rushing and stressed. deep down though, there is also a sign of relief as the year winds down. people are shopping and sharing (food, gifts and stories).

always impressed by the perfection of nature: the perfection of the flower, each petal, the threads, the gradient of its incredibly sharp colors and in this one, the give and receive factor. the natural process of life where the small bug carries part of the little process of our “daily unknown”, which directly/ indirectly keeps this world running.

happy children’s day (costa rica). the relation between a subway train in bangkok and children in costa rica is not quite related, but i couldn’t quite find a better facial gesture to represent such happiness this girl portays. sadly enough, it’s coming from a poster, which makes the situation debatable. what makes me happy though is just the thought of what techniques they used to make this girl smile.

it is obvious the environment they live is completely artificial. nowadays, most animals need humans to survive due to their same friends: us. due to the rising extinction rates, some of these thai tigers need to be artificially raised by humans, with pig milk. yes, pig milk. very odd indeed, you should see how these tigers naturally play with the pigs..

i recently read that squirrels are incredibly intelligent. the huge three-dimensional world they live in requires them to have a remarkable spatial memory. their mental map stores the location of ten thousand different nuts that they hide to feed themselves throughout the year. their brain is also capable of growing when needed, in order to adapt to more information storage demand. truely interesting and not related to this cocunut loving thai squirrel. december 2004
