build, with buildings: walls, windows, doors, and roofs; with building blocks, timber, steel; with cold, hot, rain and snow; light, time, power and passion. we lay empires of friendship and families through big blocks of values: honesty, trust, and respect. but how do we lay the foundations? where and how do we prioritize?
happy birthday jose.

everyday, every time, every hour, minute, second and beyond is a story. each happening is reversed in time into history, allowing every second that has passed to become more valuable and significant in an invisible chain and network of stories that have past. for every footstep, there lies a mark; for every mark, there is a story.

these bracelets were everywhere. bracelets, pendants, rings, all kinds of decorations with these nazars were everywhere in turkey. these droplet shaped concentric circles are usually made of glass with a sequence of different blues making a “blue eye”. made to protect any superstitious person from the evil eyes or looks around.

closely observing this fallen branch, i thought to myself about how the wooden shell starts to dry out and fall out. just like our skin changes, it is happening as our earth turns and our hearts beat without us knowing but just taking it for granted. i just wondered when these properties would be lost or even removed physically from this public park.

this is where i stand: the world. we cross limits and frontiers by sharing our thoughts and knowledge in every different cultural setting. we are all citizens of the globe and are entitled to catch up with it. with progress comes evolution, and this change inevitably creates new experiences as old ones are substituted. we are in an eternal race trying to catch up with the world, its civilizations, its people, and its natural wonders.
happy birthday christina!

rock formations. think of it as another example of change and an expression from our earth. just as parasites, we enjoy of this rich planet and its resources, which in the way we were raised and taught: it’s ok. what is frustrating is that sometimes we get carried away with “life” and forget that there are “bigger” things. we selfishly take it for granted and simply forget to give back, or to take care of what we have for the future generations.

trees, colors, textures.. that’s what’s in this “season”. you know what i mean, no? here’s a reminder of the real deal though, winter trees and crazy shade effects in the golden gate park. well, real/ not-so-real.. yeah, it’s in a park, but you know what i mean.

surfaces: layers of collected wisdom. such as this wall. within the casco antiguo in panama city, product of the last settlement from henry morgan in sixteen-seventynine. the material and elemental composition is but stains of experience and exposure. what you touch will mark, making a connection between your fingertip to such and the other way around. this stain that you easily wash off with soap will only allow it to transfer to another surface. in the end, there is no end but just a cyclical transferring of material within materials in different scales.
