the equinox. a natural balance that happens twice a year. i’ve always seen these natural occurences in a two-dimensional perspective, where balance is represented by waves. not literally, but just picture the balance and harmony that can be achieved by a wave pattern.

i thought spring was kicking in.. or so we were told. yet winter didn’t give up and blessed us with a last feeling of snow, all day long today. as nice as it was, i couldn’t help but think of the warm caribbean waters and its warm breezes. this including visual pleasure with a bit of a confusion between the gold, blue, and green sea waters and the multiplied sunrays in my face diminishing by the second. a paradox, where the nice warm days come to an end as well, just as the nice cold days meets up with these on the ‘other sides’ of the world.

today i belong to the sea again. the large and open bodies of water have waited for as long as i have. crashing the waves and fighting the wind, i close my eyes and just absorb the moist sea air. the unpredictable open clouds are casually raining in this winter holiday season, just as i felt this exactly a year ago in the caribbean sea.

dancing with the deepest of concentrations in the port of saint kitts to a spectacle of tunes, rythms, cheers and applause. the gravitational force from her head didn’t allow the pineapple to shift much from its orbit, but rather move up and down, left and right from the force we live in. great show. great passion

the island of saint thomas was purchased along with saint john and saint croix in the early nineteen hundreds forming the united states virgin islands. these are all unincorporated territories of the unites states and were purchased at twenty five million dollars back then for its strategic positioning for the first world war. yeah, just like in the movies. nowadays, charlotte amalie (it’s capital) is the most popular cruise port in the caribbean, known for great shopping and its amazing award-winning beaches.

populated with only 35,000 people, the small island of saint kitts offers more than just a fancy modern cruise port. remarkably, this small island, located in the western caribbean even hosted a world cup series for cricket in 2007. against all odds, this little island has been progressing to its capabilities, through new developments and infrastructure.

i believe every little detail in life leads back to personal values. this photo is a good example of how honesty and truth becomes one of the most fundamental values. it does not matter how much make up you put on, you will eventually need to take it off. these bricks i found in st. thomas usvi, exposed and abandoned to the sun and humidity – december 2008.

my first post. first of many (?). i will try to have a photo a day. i share this special photo of the streets of old san juan; the historic colonial section of san juan, puerto rico during the fresh christmas nights of 2008.
look into the creature’s eye. then zoom out.. now, what do you feel?
