happy mid-autumn festival. also known as the moon festival, is a popular harvest festival celebrated by asians. it is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the chinese calendar (or lunar calendar), parallel to the solar equinoxes as the moon is roundest and fullest. it is traditionally celebrated with family and moon cakes.
just to clarify, this photo was taken two years ago on a full moon night in the middle of the dessert, as it rose from the dunes. it is not the same moon you’ll see tonight.

there is much to be said about deserts and its pure beauty of vastness and simplicity. truely a unique feeling out there in the dunes; hearing nothing but wind and waves of sand rippling from afar. all one can see is the change of the sand patterns as the dunes slowly spread away from the sun; its golden glow into the horizon accompanied by the pink and lilac sunsets that fade into the vast starry night. dubai – july 2007.
happy belated pamie.
