impact. when does it start? when does it finish? with water, its a bit harder to say. with waterfalls, you know that seasonally or somehow, sometime, water started to fall, and depending on the flow, mist rises and possitively and negatively (naturally) affects the surrounding environment.

coming to a year’s end. thinking of new directions and possbilities to explore. sometimes to destinations we don’t understand or that we don’t anticipate, but sometimes things happen and happen for a reason. but whatever or wherever or however, always try and reflect and appreciate the good side of any opportunities. as hard as it could be, it is always good to remind yourself of the optimist side to a happening (no matter how idealistic or ridiculous).

i think the flower might be some kind of hawksbeard (crepis), also known as fake dandelions. doesn’t matter though.. it’s out of focus and the insects are too. i guess it was more about the moment. it was really windy, and to see so many of these creatures, fighting the wind and within each other to get a little piece of the many hawksbeards.

considered to be a weed by many “specialists”, dandelions have simply been forgotten for its benefits. by our generation it is simply seen as the interesting flower that turns into a “cotton” ball where the pappus (parachutes) fly up and away with the wind. even though they manage to spread and grow in peculiar places, these can benefit soil to fertilize it in various ways. something else forgotten is its use in medicinal and gastronomical purposes.

she was not posing, nor was she as angry as it appears. it is still hard to excuse such frustration in her expressions, but she was calling for her puppy as it kept leaping off farther and farther. it is interesting to learn the caring characteristics fo our nature and how it evolves through time.

an many of you know, iceland has hunted whales through history. in such cold extreme weathers, such harvest would be extremely benefitial providing the population with food, oil, bones for tools, jewelry and toys. they would make an incredible use of these such as the one in the photo. i forgot what this bone was used for.. whatever it was, it wore out from such.

this is what you see coming from the southern coast into vik, iceland. i’m a fanatic of the drastic change of elements, the rocky formations, intense green grass, and the snow on the mountains in the back separated by snother body of water.

it’s the little things that make life special. i have never seen such a complete landscape: from the clouds, to the river, to the fresh weather and the tears of excitement by living this experience. it’s almost like capturing this photo is unfair to the moment. happy birthday little!

iceland is blessed with millions of breathtaking landscapes. the beautiful combination of its geographical features, sharp colors and majestic play of light create a natural ying yang of so many different factors alltogether.
in this photo, the clouds create an incredible light effect which makes the foreground appear to be “photoshopped” on the background.
