everyday, every time, every hour, minute, second and beyond is a story. each happening is reversed in time into history, allowing every second that has passed to become more valuable and significant in an invisible chain and network of stories that have past. for every footstep, there lies a mark; for every mark, there is a story.

impact. when does it start? when does it finish? with water, its a bit harder to say. with waterfalls, you know that seasonally or somehow, sometime, water started to fall, and depending on the flow, mist rises and possitively and negatively (naturally) affects the surrounding environment.

named as the golden falls in icelandic, gullfoss is hidden within the hvítá river canyon. coming from afar, the crevice can be barely noticed, and as one approaches, can feel the mist echoing closer as the particles bounce off each other. it is said that this precious monument was once considered to be used by some investors to generate water hydroelectrically. lucky for us, they failed. we have manage to destroy one less marvel of nature.

a perfection of the earth’s wrinkles with a few splashes of grees and yellow, some soil here and there with heaps of tiny precious rocks and fine black volcanic sand, a few streams of pure and refreshing water, some incredibly friendly people, some mist and just throw in a pair of rainbows while you’re there too… and voila, we have iceland.

nowadays, well depending on where it is, its hard to see animals unclaimed in open fields. it also depends on what kind of animal it is of course, but to be able to observe how sheep interact in the open ranges is truly more relaxing than anuthing inside a zoo for sure.

rock formations. think of it as another example of change and an expression from our earth. just as parasites, we enjoy of this rich planet and its resources, which in the way we were raised and taught: it’s ok. what is frustrating is that sometimes we get carried away with “life” and forget that there are “bigger” things. we selfishly take it for granted and simply forget to give back, or to take care of what we have for the future generations.

so it is freezing as i expected here in beijing. even though it’s completely the inverse and burning, the thought of the geysers and their steam are mentally warming. i don’t even mind the smell of sulfur from the water, but just looking at the clear steamy water is just enough to comfort me in the insides of my apartment as i look out towrds the dirty and “unmeltable” snow.

coming to a year’s end. thinking of new directions and possbilities to explore. sometimes to destinations we don’t understand or that we don’t anticipate, but sometimes things happen and happen for a reason. but whatever or wherever or however, always try and reflect and appreciate the good side of any opportunities. as hard as it could be, it is always good to remind yourself of the optimist side to a happening (no matter how idealistic or ridiculous).
