ah, weekend again.. and to some of you i know this close-up might be a little disturbing, but all i can think of right now (lately, and the past weeks and months) is a good typical meal. notice the textures in the plantain, beans, rice, fried yuca (cassava) and the sauce from the chicken in the back part of the photo. mmm… this sure beats pocky for breakfast (today).

as human beings, we all try to rise, to stand the tallest and fight for survival. just like we learn in elementary school science class, it is all relative within different scales, like mushrooms in a forest or the different trees in a jungle. this photo adds another variable to the picture: aging, and regeneration. how true, eh?

to be honest, i just can’t find a reason to explain why this photo is so appealing to me, but it is. it was a cold, misty and breezy morning in zarcero park (march 2008); with tiny droplets of cold rain that bounced off  of my jacket, which was covering my camera from time to time.  i found myself kneeling against the wet floor in front of thousands of flowers waiting to be photographed.
